32Gb External SD card for Android not showing up on PC

MS32

I have a Motorola Moto 3rd Gen (2015) with 8Gb internal storage, and I bought and inserted and mounted a external 32Gb Sandisk class 10 microSD - I'm a brand new android user. When I use a USB cable to try to transfer my music to my phone (which Im assuming is done by drag&drop), the storage shows up in My PC as only having a maximum 4Gb of storage space :(

Any ideas?

Didn't really do anything - nothing different happens when I re-connect. When I open Motorola device manager (that I installed from your link) it just checks for updates. Still same issue, it only detects the 8Gb of internal storage

usually when you connect the usb cable it will ask how you want to use the phone, choose mtp and it will recognize your phone as storage.

alternatively you can set it via settings/connect to pc/media device something like that not sure what the moto os is but thats for android4.0+

im surprised it didnt automatically install the drivers, most newer phone have the drivers on the internal memory card to install on the first connect.

I realise now I should have been more thorough about my specs (will edit my OP accordingly).

It's a brand spanking new Motorola Moto (3rd Generation), which is running Android version 6.0, and I'm trying to find the best way to transfer music files from my Windows 10 Pro

The issue being that my PC, when I open the phone with Windows Explorer, I get inside the 8Gb Internal storage, as shown in the screenshot in the OP.
