windows resetting settings on update

so a windows update happened and when i turned on my pc it looked similar to when i updated to windows 10. it reset all the settings. this is really bad for me since my dad cracked the touch screen on my laptop so the whole screen was getting rapidly tapped everywhere. i was just wondering why all the settings got reset and how to prevent it in the future since it takes me about a hour to disable the touch feature every time the settings get reset since it is just rapidly tapped everywhere.

I think what you mean is that you previously disabled your touch screen via Device Manager, or uninstall its drivers, and now the driver is back and or re-enabled in Device Manager. Is that what happened?
