Hello Everyone,

I don't have much experience with adobe products.  I need your help.  I want to work on building my boyfriend a new computer that he can use to do his work efficiently.  Right now he has a ok system that he uses to game and do some of his work. My goal is to build him a system that he won't have to worry if it's going to do what he wants to do fast.  I am very limited in finances so i will have to cut cost where i can without hurting his build.  My recent thought is to get him a i5-4690k processor and use my MSI pc mate z97 board his ram, hard drives, video card, power supply, and case.  but i have been fighting in my head should i get him a i7 or even a xeon processor...  i don't know.  anyway any incite would help.  feel free to message me directly on facebook, on here, or email.

BTW here is some of his videos take a look...  https://www.youtube.com/user/uberfeeser

Instead of getting a Z97 board and a 4690k, go for a H97 board as it's much cheaper and get a Xeon E3-1231v3. around the same price but has hyperthreading is still pretty decent for gaming.

Don't be fooled by the bottom line of my sig, that is just for my travels.

So you're telling me that Gaben is no God? Enough of your foolishness.

My hardware you ask? I'm using a Dell Inspiron 3217 Notebook... With an LG 25UM57.

I would avoid the V300, since Kingston replaced its NAND with cheaper quality ones which made it very slow.

He can stick with it as long as he is fine with its speeds.

Yes, because it has 8 logical cores that would work really well for his work. It's much better in comparison to a non-hyperthreaded 4 core such as i5 processors.

in that respect would a i7 4790k be better?

Yes, but I honestly can't justify the $50-100 markup on the 4790k unless overclocking is a must. But I doubt he would need to overclock for maybe a 1% increase in workflow speed.
