Is the iPhone 5 completely terrible? I didn't think so until what is in the attached image happened this morning. I didn't drop it or anything, I was just holding it and texting and then I felt something else other than the phone in my hand, then I saw what had happened, I then put my case on and am probably never going to take it off again...any tips on getting this to stay in place again or why this even happened in the first place?

It was a factory refurbished one that we got off of amazon, I received it for Christmas, but I don't ink there is a warranty, but the little code that you plug into the wall and then plug the Lightning cord into, the one that came with this phone, literally melted while charging it, given it was under a pillow, but it still melted...

OP: did you buy the phone second hand? Also, I really don't think a poll is necessary. The iPhone 5 is an old device, and there were no widespread issues like this before.

Ahh that makes sense. Obviously the plate wasn't adhered properly. Usually factory refurbished products have a 90 day warranty, but I am not sure if it is through Amazon (especially if a 3rd party).

 

You could try to use super glue, but I would be concerned using it in that area. IMO, use electrical tape to secure it and cover the plate entirely then keep the phone in a case.
