Lately I have seen so many people come to this forum asking for help and then arguing with people trying to help them and just being stubborn in their original plans and won't listen to reason, some even start saying how bad the forum is and spout abuse at other members and I was just wondering if this gets on anyone elses nerves when people do this or if I'm just easily wound up.

I know this topic is slightly pointless it's just more of a mini rant on all these people coming here and wasting peoples time just for the record I haven't seen any regular members doing this

There are a lot of people spreading false information and there's nothing we can do about it.

As LinusTechTips becomes more popular, more of the lowest common denominator crowd will find their way in. Good forum moderation will keep any trolling/arguing in check. It's a phenomenon that happens when a community reaches a certain critical mass.

I was part of that community. And somewhat ashamed to say it as well. Some are a bunch of thick-headed argumentative idiots.

For its size the forum is becoming increasingly under staffed, however users are there to help move topics, find spammers etc.

I completely agree. There is a rush of new members. A lot of them are very immature. There are a lot of times where I don't even feel like browsing the forum because a lot of people are starting to become a big nuisance.

Nearly at 10,000 posts, not too shabby at all.

I think this is going to happen more often. It's just normal every day people joining that you'd have the same exact interaction with in person if they asked your advice for computers.

... This is the nature of things when they grow.

This^

It happens to all communities. Eventually, once it gets big enough and noticed, people come to explicitly do this. People being people, as Sam said.

Personally I think the moderators still do a great job at removing trolling and spam, I disagree with some controversial topics they remove but that's just an opinion and I can sort of see why they do it

I have noticed a almost 3,000 user increase over the past 4ish days. That's almost a 10% jump very quickly.

Yep, this is why I stopped watching popular youtube guys. This is also why I'm not excited for Battlefield 4, and have lost the will to play Battlefield 3.

I have only seen them remove a topic once it has devolved to flaming, or has been requested by those in it.

Eh. I am not always on. Just weekdays 8-5 (don't tell my boss).
