$1200 Gaming build

So you can't increase it with $300 more?

Like I said above, put that money towards upgrading your secondary display, there's not much else that would really be worth putting the money into given your current display set up, there's a lot more rather than just having the best hardware you could buy, get an ODAC or something with the money if you care about audio quality, or buy a nice chair, probably the most important thing in a PC set up, GT omega has the Racing chairs for about $250, main bonus over a standard $100 office chair is going to be the flexibility

a portrait 1440p display is amazing to have by the way

Because a 390 is only $300

with the 300 saved there compared to the 980ti he could upgrade his secondary display with a 1440p IPS display and have a much better experience daily, especially over using an older 1050p display for a secondary display
$318 1440p IPS 27"  75Hz actually

Could even afford a monitor arm with it and run it in portrait mode, which 1440p is great for as it has enough horizontal pixels in that mode to properly display web pages

Granted that's a bit over the price of a 980ti, but that's going to be way better than having a faster GPU that won't even be pushed hard for a 1080p 144hz display

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I'd go for the i7 just to have more threads, if you're purely gaming and will never do anything else, then maybe get the unlocked i5, as the 6500 only goes to 3.6ghz,

I'm getting the 6600k, taking the 6700 blows my budget.

I don't have to invest in anything right now since i'm happy with my 1080p monitor and there's nothing I care about but my PC getting upgraded to play some AAA games at ultra 60fps+.

Well get a better cooler if you're going to go that route, also why that 390?

this one's less expensive

and I'd go for an HR-22 but that's just me

And also the Powercolor is about the same price where it exists here in Sweden, which is a un-reputable store
