HDMI audio removal

Is there any way that you can get the audio off of an hdmi video signal to move it into a receiver. So that isnt the crappy speakers built into a tv I am stuck listening to. 

 

This is my short return form a long hiatus due to work and school.

A new receiver that supports HDMI video signal, get a switch they are pretty inexpensive
