Freesync 165Hz Monitor?

rcarlos243

Is there any 1440P 165Hz monitor released / announced?

So far I only heard about Acer XB1 Gsync and Asus PG279Q to be 1440P 165Hz IPS.

I am also looking currently at Asus MG279Q 1440P 144Hz Freesync and I am wondering if that monitor can be manually overclocked to 165Hz without frame skipping.

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.

The difference between 144 and 165 is very minimal, I don't really know why you would do that anyway.

Current Build: Core i7 4790k @ 4.6, Asus Maximus VII Hero, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400mhz 8gb (2x4gb), GTX 980ti, NZXT Kraken X61, Fractal Define R5  EVGA Supernova B2 850w, Some 300gb hard drive.

not true especially if you have used a high end CRT.

Even a strobe backlight 144Hz is not as clear as a CRT

Do the math.

With 144Hz you will get a new image every 6,95ms (1000/144) and with 165Hz you will get one every 6,06ms. You gotta be some sort of super human to notice a difference. We are talking about not even 1ms...

I think 144Hz is perfectly fine.

CPU: i7-4770k (LM modded) - MB: GA-Z87X-UD3H - RAM: HyperX, 16GB 1866MHz - GPU: Palit GTX 980Ti Super - Storage: 1TB HDD + 500GB/120GB SSD (850 Evo/840) - Monitor: Predator XB271HU - PSU: 700W BeQuiet 80+ Gold

every tenth counts considering CRT have 1ms motion blur display persistence and strobe backlight LCD has about 2ms.

I don't think there is one with FreeSync, probably easier to just get a Nvidia graphics card :D

the mg279q will only offer up to 90 hz while Freesync in enabled. (Sadly..)

I guess that is caused by what was mentioned..:

However.. there IS coming a Freesync monitor with 165hz (that is compatible with Freesync all the way up to 165hz). The ViewSonic XG2703 - one of XG03 series, releasing in 94 days ...

http://gaming.viewsonic.com/XG2703/

Price not confirmed i think. One review site mentioned 700-900 USD, another mentioned 1200 USD (I think 1200 USD is most likely).
