How do you add over 3 fans to your motherboard?

How do I add over 3 fans to my motherboard? Do I need somekinda adapter things or something like that?

Good to know is that you can not just use y splitter after y splitter. You have to look up your motherboard manual to know how much amps you can draw from one fan header. Most of the times a header can only deliver 1 amp. So 1 amp * 12 volts is 12 watts. If you have a 0.33 amp fan don't connect 3 fans on one header. you don't want do ask 1 amp all the time from a header since any slight adjustment in the higher end wil fry your connection on the motherboard and if you have a bad day the whole motherboard.

No, I edited my post, because I said 3 to 4 pin connectors but, they`re pins

Y splitters are one method, but as noted, do not overload the connections.  If not specified in the manual assume a limit of 1 amp per header.

 

If that is not a viable option then you can also get connectors or speed controllers that will connect to either SATA or Molex connections from your PSU.
