Can someone tell me what each different GPU means?

GT is media grade, GTX is for gaming

gt are older now, gtx are modern gaming cards.. some cards are more powerful than others.

GT cards are actually modern cards. Like the GT 640.

gt are graphics cards that are meant for a htpc or not a gaming system. A gtx card is a graphics card that is on the gaming side. The lowest card which is the 650 is pathetic so dont get that.

The prefix has no meaning in itself.  NVIDIA puts "GTX" in front of their high performance cards (in their opinion anyway) and "GT" in front of the lower end cards.  Just because it has GTX does not mean you will get great performance though.  As said, the prefix has no concrete meaning.  They can name their cards whatever they want.

geforce low end(only exist in laptops)

gt or gts is mid end

gtx is awesome cuz its got an X

and if you were wondering about the AMD side. Anything lower than say a *700 series card like a 7770 or a  6770 is considered a low end card much like the GT cards from nvidia.

GT is entry level cards for HTPCs (not great for gaming), GTS is mid end, and GTX is the high end cards.

Naming most likely comes from some old fashion since my 8800GT was pretty much same grade than GTX560Ti that I have now. X refers to eXtreme. GT could be Gran Turbo :P S is for Standart.
