Block Internet on Macbook Pro

Hey,

I've looked around for a bit, but can't seem to find a way to disable internet connection on my Mac. BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING -- It is not a simple as turning wifi on and off, as I need this to be undetectable. My sibling doesn't get internet access at home, and now that we're at a resort hotel with free wifi, she is in heaven (to my parents' disapproval haha).

 

I don't want a third party program if possible, so I want to know if I can disable, say, the MAC address or block everything in firewall (which would be easy to detect).

if you want an extreme solution you can maybe open your mac and take out the network card? actually not sure if you can open up a mac

You can use parental controls in system preferences to disable internet access for certain users. I'll give you step by step instructions if you need them.

Macbook pros are actually pretty easy to change hardware in like most laptops. NIC might be built into the logic board though.

You can enter manual ethernet config to something that won't connect. If it has bad default gateway, it will not know how to connect to the internet.

 

That said, what's the point of restraining child's access to the internet? I never understood this, it doesn't solve anything.

They are someone else's kids. If their parents think that they shouldn't have internet access, they can do that.

Some parents strike their kids, some even sexually abuse them, some throw their babies into dumpsters. They are their parents, they can do that, right?

It's a bit of exaggeration, but being a parent doesn't mean their logic is flawless and it's no excuse for shitty upbringing.
