I have finally settled on an Asus VX24AH monitor which is 1440p-24''

Panel Type : In-Plane Switching

Contrast Ratio (Max) : 1000:1

Response Time : 5ms (Gray to Gray)

ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio (ASCR) : 100000000:1

True Resolution : 2560x1440

Analog Signal Frequency : 30~80 KHz(H) / 50~76Hz(V)
Digital Signal Frequency : 30~80 KHz(H) / 50~76Hz(V)

IS THIS MONITOR WORTH it?

(EXACT PRICE:375$-in India-more costly-almost double the price due to custom duty)

AND, IS 60Hz enough??

What's your GPU? If you ask me, 60Hz is just fine, as you need loads of GPU horsepower to drive more than 60Hz. From the aspect of specifications, the monitor is excellent! But I don't know more about it. Check for reviews...

By the way, can you tell me how much it costs in Rupees? I live in India too...

Nothing to see here ;)

You might find 24" a bit cramped and small for 1440p, though fine for gaming, 27" would be better

144hz is better for gaming and your 980ti would be great for that as many games would run at 1440p 144hz

but depends if you can afford to spend more

That's the problem bro.
For 144hz here , you have to pay around 200$ more. I guess I  would have to go for a 1080p then if 60hz is not enough.

60hz vs 144hz is ENTIRELY up to you if its "worth" it, most competitive games argue 120+hz is better for competiive gaming

im happy with  1440p 60 myself

60hz is enough for casual gaming

if you're the type that is serious about competitive plays, then 144hz is for you

if not, enjoy the colours that IPS can deliver, albeit in 60hz

Does it really matter? By competitive , I actually meant Counter strike or GTA 5 online. Ha ha. So is there any noticeable difference? If yes, how?

"competitive", means, you play competitively, in competitions or competitive modes

not "do you play online" which you can still do casually

60hz and 120hz are vastly different 120hz is smoother, more responsive, but it only matters if you are running games above 60fps

if you prefer it or find it a benefit, is up to you, I love 120hz but there were no 144hz 1440p monitors when I bought mine, and my 780ti couldnt handle it

if I was upgrading now, id be getting one

One of the best sites in India is http://www.theitdepot.com, but you can also look up mdcomputers.in.

But here's the best. If you're willing to pay a little more for International Shipping, hell you can get almost anything you want from Newegg (Indian sub-store). Here's the link to Newegg India : http://www.newegg.com/global/in/Components/Store

I live near Chennai, Tamilnadu.

Nothing to see here ;)
