Asus MG279Q for 970 user (Good Deal?)

Heyo

I'm in the market for a new monitor since forever and I am always looking for nice deals on some websites. Today I stumbled across a deal where I can get the Asus MG279Q for 500€ (550$) instead of 650€ (730$). I am currently using a single 970 by Gigabyte to run dual monitors in 1080p. I know it would make more sense to get the G-Sync version (or a stronger GPU), however the PG279q costs 350€ (400$) more in Germany and doesnt have any more features. I am planning on getting an AMD card next too. Either way, as the the free sync only goes up to 90Hz I probably wouldnt even use it with the Radeon card. I am currently looking at this monitor as a beastly 144Hz 1440p IPS Monitor by Asus without Free/G-Sync for 500 bucks. Is there something competing with that? Even the Dell one with a TN-Panel costs 70€ more than that. What would you do?

Thanks

That monitor is my favorite 1440p Freesync monitor. Just out of my price range.

Free-sync is good for AMD

Though 1440p isn't that great on the 970 due to VRAM limits.
