My current gaming resolution is 1080p, I'm curious, if I were to buy a 1440p monitor and play certain games in 1080p would it look weird? Or would it look like it does now? Thanks!

Would Lose a tiny bit of sharpness but apart from that it would be fine.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

It looks the same, for the most part. Native resolutions will pretty much always look better, but running 1080p on a 1440p panel won't look too different from a 1080p panel, as long as the size isn't too big. The difference is more noticeable with larger screens.

1080p and 1440p doesnt scale perfectly, so it'll be much more blurry

thats just my assumption

its always best to play at native res

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

it would look kind of unsharp, not totally unplayable but it would look like if youre playing 720p on a 1080p screen.
