Hello, I have a cooler master elite 335 (Yes I know it is old), I was wondering if a hyper 212 evo would fit in this case. Also since there is no cut out behind the mother board would I have issues with the back plate?

Case: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-case-rc335kkn1gp

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

your motherboard should be lifted up and away from the motherboard panel by stand offs, so the backplate should fit just fine

your case supports heatsinks up to 163mm high and the hyper 212 evo is 159mm, so no problems there :)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

You can use PCPartPicker to do compatibility checks for you. Just add in the rest of your components for your build and it should toss you an error at the top if there are issues. Based solely on the case you said you have and the 212 EVO, it says no issues.

Dont quote me, but I think there is a disclaimer saying PcPartpicker does not do clearance checks...

Yeah it says:  * Some physical dimension restrictions cannot (yet) be automatically checked, such as cpu cooler / RAM clearance with modules using tall heat spreaders.

Just through my experience I've never had an issue, but you make a valid point. I had forgotten about that actually, haha.

Another way is just to go for specs for case and cooler in manufacturers product pages.
