From what I can tell, dropping from a 240gb version to a 120gb version saves around 20 dollars.  Personally, that extra space would be worth 20 dollars, but if you really want to cut some dollars out you can go 120gb without too much hassle.

dude, im running with a 64GB SSD because i had the money to get and SSD but not a very big one, and its not even close to enough because shit roots itself on the C: drive no matter what you do so DONT CHEAP OUT. get as much storage you possibly  can in there, 120GB is double what i have but im not sure i would be any happier with that so throw all the money you can at the SSD because else it might end up biting you in the ass like it did for me :/

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

The 64GB SSD struggle was real for me back in 2008.  Options and prices were a lot different back then though...so completely different scenario.

Hey there Afro_Lamb,

A few notes from me:
- Have in mind that the OS alone with the drivers and updates takes about 35GB to 40GB of the SSD's storage capacity.

- It's also recommended to leave some free space on a SSD for a more optimal and smooth performance and operation (around 10%-12% is recommended).

- Although SSDs give quite the boost to the loading and boot times as well as they provide a significant improvement to the system's responsiveness, they don't really affect gaming performance or simple media usage.

I'd first consider what would benefit from running off the SSD and then decide on the capacity of the drive. :)
What will the system be used for?

the kingston SSDNow v300 does NOT perform well... at all... you can save at least £20 on the power supply there to put towards a better or bigger SSD, the v300 series are an absolute joke though, the low cost is a completely false economy

I'm on a horse...

Do not buy the V300,

This is better, or save up £40 and get an SSD down the road with a 500gb one
