I need help, I am looking for a Intel CPU that is sufficient enough to run 32GB ram.
If you can find one with DDR4 that would be awesome, if not. Cool, I will look at it anyways.

I also want to score with hyper threading, but I don't really need it either.

I usually edit 4K video with 2 GTX 980 Ti
I also run a lot of VMware machines as well.

Sounds like the 5820K and a X99 motherboard is for you then - granted if the budget in mind allows for that.

what is your budget?

5960X or 5820K + X99 is the best option

I should make 4,000 USD this summer as a student. Money is not an issue.

I'd go for a 5820K with 2 980tis

The whole build, this is my second PC build. I am pretty experienced with stuff like this. My last build was all AMD. Now I want to go to all Intel and Nvidia.

The skylake processors seem good but in my personal opinion they do not benefit the user as much. I think a 5th gen i7 CPU could get you a better outcome. As @Clanscorpia said, a 5820k with 2 980TIs would be ideal but if you need anything different then either go with a 5960X or something else. Make sure the CPU has compatibility with multiple cards.

you can swap out the 750 series for a 500 gb 850 evo, but that speed should be nice for 4K video editing :)

You can get a i7 5820K, but if budget permits, you can also opt for the i7 5960X. But please don't get the 5930K, as probably the only difference between it and 5820K, is that the i7 5930K has much more PCIe lanes, useful for 3 or more GPUs. You can get the 5820K for that.

Nothing to see here ;)
