So about a month ago I got a suspension from my ISP for torrenting a movie.  I deleted the file but today I got suspended again for the same movie but I deleted the file and never have to torrented since the last suspension.  So they told my to delete the file sharing program.  I will be deleting popcorntime { the program I got the movie from}  and utorrent.  Is there any other thing I need to delete or do not to get suspended again??

I'm not fully sure about the ins and outs of that particular piece of software but if you have files downloaded through P2P software, then it will generally upload or "seed" those files to other people who are downloading . That's how the system works. If you deleted the file the only thing i can think of is that popcorn time redownloaded the file (or part of it) and was seeding that. The IP addresses of seeders are generally public so all the movie owner has to do is look at the torrent and see who is sharing it illegally.

Uhh, don't torrent in general.

Also, Utorrent will continue to seed files in the background even after you close it. Once you uninstall it you should be fine.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Yes but how do I stop the seeding,  do I delete popcorntime?

My friend told me about the program, and I didn't know it was torrenting until I got the suspension

Yeah, that will stop it. I don't think popcorntime even has anything shared legally on it anyway. Delete, or just make sure it isn't running.

I don't think so either,  I will maybe also format the computer just to be sure.

You shouldn't have to go to that extent. The files are shared between running instances of popcorntime, so if yours isn't running then it won't be uploading the file.

Doing a format every now and then itsn't a bad idea though so you can do that if you like ;)

I'm sure it happens in the UK too. If a large company tells the ISP to enforce rules on people who are illegally getting their products. Some ISPs throttle torrent traffic, due to the high use of torrents for illegal purposes, but torrents themselves (usually) aren't blocked, and the ISP doesn't send a warning/suspension if you're just USING torrent software.

In utorrent if you do not want to seed, you go to Preferences > Queueing

You will see a section that says "When utorrent reaches the seeding goal"

Check the box and enter in the number 0

You can then set the minimum ratio % to 0, this will cause it to stop seeding immediately once a download is complete.

If your ISP has a massive issue with torrenting (even though it is mostly used for legal stuff (for example, the launcher for armored warfare is a torrent client, it is how they distribute their updates), then you will need to use a VPN service that supports torrenting. https://torrentfreak.com/anonymous-vpn-service-provider-review-2015-150228/
