240GB SSD for $75

Go to solution Solved by Aereldor,

The OCZ Trion and PNY CS1311 240/250GB SSDs can often be had for cheaper, and those are pretty fast. The Crucial BX200 isn't slower than an HDD by any stretch of the imagination (unless you have two buildings full of WD Velociraptors in Raid 0), but despite its decent read speeds, it suffers from comparatively poor write speeds for an SSD, along with a higher failure rate than some other drives, making it less reliable than the aforementioned OCZ and PNY alternatives as well.

I was really looking at the BX200, but some sources site it being slower than and HDD. What are some better options?

It's not bad if you're on a budget, and I really can't see it being slower than an HDD.

You can always save up just a little more, and get something better.

I've heard good things about both drives. I'd recommend looking up specs, benchmark scores, and user reviews and experiences- what you would do when comparing anything else.

P.S: Consider putting your replies to a post outside of the quotes themselves. It's hard to see that your reply is even there, and it's impossible to quote it in order to respond to it- so I had to do this instead.
