Hello all. Currently, I have Windows 10 pro 64-bit, 16 GB of RAM, my processor is an AMD Phenom IIX4 955 Processor 3.20 GHz, my power supply is 550 WATT, I'm not quite sure how to tell what my Mother Board is, but it works with my AMD Processor. I also need a new heat sink because the one I have now is too large. But the reason I am posting all this info is because I need to upgrade as it has been 6 years of having this equipment. While I don't have the money right now to do any upgrades, I plan to save up over time. So where should I start looking into upgrading in order to play some VR when it is released? I'm not really looking for the best of the best, just something that I can look forward to spending my money on while still preforming quite well and could continue to preform that was over the next 3-4 years, if possible.

i suggest you save up and buy a new computer entirely, your current system have no parts that can support VR, except for that 16gb ram and windows 10

the reason for doing so is so your parts match up by the end of the build

if you buy parts by parts over time, by the time you finish your build, something is already obsolete lol

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Should wait for the end of the year when zen becomes available and save up around $1000 or so if you want a higher end PC

and if you don't have a bunch of money you wouldn't be able to afford VR anyways man

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
