I'm not sure if they'll RMA the card if it was destroyed by an "act of God." Stated somewhere in the warranty policy.

Don't think it would count as an act of God. Although, "act of God" is typically a deliberately vague reason for component death that doesn't fall in an established category.

I'd say trying to RMA it anyway is worth it. Worst case is they say no.

It's a very good unit. Overkill and expensive for any single GPU system, though.

Dictionary.com's definition of the term:

a direct, sudden, and irresistible action of natural forces such as could not reasonably have been foreseen or prevented, as a flood, hurricane, earthquake, or other natural catastrophe.

considering I lost a 770.... This PSU says it offers a 10 warranty vs the Cosair offering a 2 year warranty.  I think the marketing is having a big effect on me lol...

The warranty basically says(as long as the company honors it) that x product will last a certain amount of time, and if it doesn't, we will replace it as long as these conditions are met or not met.

So I'm guessing that I should replace the CX 600? since it's likely that it killed my GPU?

not necessarily . While a psu can certainly kill components , the CX psus have a bad rap.

The thing is , their lack of quality is bown way out of proportion , they aren't that bad ( not the best though ).

If you were to use a multimetre or an oscilloscope to a cx psu , it would show that voltage regulation/ripple ( what kills compnents ) isn't that bad.

Then again , there really is no way to know . Did you ground yourself when opening the pc ?

isn't there a brand of PSU's that has the reputation that say WD drives have?

There are a lot of brands of power supplies which provide(normally) decent units such as SeaSonic, Antec, Corsair, Cooler Master, Superflower, Fractal Design, etc. Of course as you have found, Corsair also makes mediocre units along with Cooler Master.

only if you consider touching a PC chassis while it being connected to a ground.  if not then no I normally don't touch my pc unless I'm dusting it, which then I make to use a anti static wrist strap connected to a ground while cleaning.

Though technically, wearing a connected anti-static wrist strap doesn't necessarily mean you're grounded - if you suffer from dry skin, that will increase electrical resistance and may not allow you to be properly grounded.
