So I bought some some DVDs on the .co.uk version of Amazon since on the .it they weren't available (at least not sold by Amazon), I payed around £48 and decided not to use the Amazon currency converter and pay in £ so far so good right... well the Amazon's converted price was higher than the actual value converted from another website (by like €4) so... how much do you think I paid, how is the conversion handled if I didn't use the option to pay directly in euros? Who does the actual conversion, Amazon or my bank?

If you opted out of the Amazon coversion then you'll pay the conversion rate of your bank (or the rate of whoever gave you your card).

Can't you just check how much you paid by checking how much is reserved on your bank account?
