As a Mac Person I was stuck using Final Cut Pro X for almost 3 years now for my video editing need Z Don't get me wrong it's great. I've mastered it completely and have done plenty of amazing videos on it. I'm making the transition to Windows and need help choosing a video editing software that's similar to this. From what i.e. heard, Adobe premiere pro is quite similar. Any suggestions other than that?

DaVinci Resolve 12 is a full fledged NLE now and is free. You can export your Final Cut projects as XML and import them in Resolve.

Or move to Adobe and import the project XMLs.

These are the workflows I use when I have to continue editing/exporting projects started by other freelancers who use Final Cut.

If you're coming from FCPX, don't use Lightworks or Hitfilms.  Neither of them support XML.

Yeah, I'm most likely gonna stick Sony Vegas. Might try different softwares to see what works for me though.
