980ti would be best, but perhaps out of budget. a 980 would also be good.

a 390x is also a fantastic card for the money

What is the best gpu for maxing any game out at 2560x1080? I don't play 100% AAA games but games like Just cause 3 and star wars battlefront, and a gtx 960 can't max these games out to even high-ultra settings. Don't really have a budget but around $300-$500

I've yet to find a game that doesn't run on high-ultra settings at 75fps solid on my 2560x1080 Freesync monitor with my R9 390.

Project White Lightning (My ITX Gaming PC): Core i5-4690K | CRYORIG H5 Ultimate | ASUS Maximus VII Impact | HyperX Savage 2x8GB DDR3 | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB | WD Black 1TB | Sapphire RX 480 8GB NITRO+ OC | Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ITX | Corsair AX760 | LG 29UM67 | CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate | Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum | HyperX Cloud II | Logitech Z333

Benchmark Results: 3DMark Firestrike: 10,528 | SteamVR VR Ready (avg. quality 7.1) | VRMark 7,004 (VR Ready)

Other systems I've built:

Core i3-6100 | CM Hyper 212 EVO | MSI H110M ECO | Corsair Vengeance LPX 1x8GB DDR4  | ADATA SP550 120GB | Seagate 500GB | EVGA ACX 2.0 GTX 1050 Ti | Fractal Design Core 1500 | Corsair CX450M

Core i5-4590 | Intel Stock Cooler | Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI | HyperX Savage 2x4GB DDR3 | Seagate 500GB | Intel Integrated HD Graphics | Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 | be quiet! Pure Power L8 350W

would an i5 4460 bottleneck any of these cards at 2560x1080 cuz that could be a potential bottleneck when and if I upgrade

A 970, 390, 390X, and even the Fury are great for that resolution. The 980 Ti is pretty much overkill for that resolution, really.

A 980Ti is meant to be a QHD card (which is ~25% higher than 2560x1080), people have a wrong perspective of it being a 4K card. The problem is that games like The Division are coming that need 980Ti to be playable at 1080p @60 FPS. I know it's beta but it's a terryfing thought nonetheless, that we may have come to that. I'm pretty sure a 980Ti won't be able to max it on a higher res, like 2560x1080. Just saying it's not an overkill for that resolution, if you want to max stuff.

I personally would go with a 390X if I could get one.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

I've a 390 and the specs in my signature, running on a 2560x1080 monitor, been playing Fallout 4 on ultra no problems.

Really happy with the card.

PC - NZXT H510 Elite, Ryzen 5600, 16GB DDR3200 2x8GB, EVGA 3070 FTW3 Ultra, Asus VG278HQ 165hz,

Mac - 1.4ghz i5, 4GB DDR3 1600mhz, Intel HD 5000.  x2

Endlessly wishing for a BBQ in space.

Well, is The Division even optimized? Plus its in beta, I'm pretty sure the devs have to keep in mind that they have to make it run properly... unless their goal is to make sure its only capable of giving ultra @ 60fps for top-tier cards like the 980 ti at 1920x1080. But yeah, its still overkill because its meant to pretty much be a beast at atleast 1440p on ultra @ 60fps.
