So I took this wifi card out of my current PC and put it into my brother's PC I just built and it seems to be too big to fit in?

Ah, that would be it, I have a full sized ATX board and I have PCI slots, gotta find a new card now.

The card will only fit in a pci lane. Pci-e and pci lanes are different. A pci lane is embossed more off the board so its quite easy to notice the legacy lane.

you should able to use that card in pcie and pci by the looks of it

wow...

Intel Core I5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, AMD Radeon HD6950, Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe motherboard, 8GB DDR3 Corsair RAM, Corsair H100, 60GB Agility3 OS drive + 1TB WD Blue drive. 

I use this rig mainly for facebook and emails. Pointless effort to be honest!
