Can anyone tell me a good 600watt power supply for under £40

You really should not use the word 'budget' when it comes to PSUs, especially not here.

Can we get the system specs? 600W might be too large for your system.

The reason i need it is because the gpu needs a 600watt psu and wouldnt work with the current 430 watt psu

its a pc for my brother to play minecraft on it has a core2duo e6400 a 1gb gddr5 gpu from asus and some old lga 775 mobo and 2 gb ran (ddr2). I am not sure what the full specs are.

You're not going to need 600W for all that, that 430W PSU would be more than enough. Just sounds like a faulty PSU if it's not working.

What PSU is it? The system you listed will never use more than 250W no matter how hard you try to push it so my guess is you had a faulty PSU.

 

An XFX TS will work fine for your system, the 430W version having enough wattage for your system.
