Main goal was to get an Intel base that I can use right now but upgrade at a later date. Eventually will be grabbing an i5. Besides, I don't think I could've gotten a better deal for $35!

Fair point but at the moment, the games I play don't require a minimum of 4 cores. This is a step up from the FX-4300 I currently have.

Yeah, it's almost absurd but I love it as well!

This was my project this past weekend. Took much longer than I expected but I love the way it's turning out. Ran out of sleeving with just a few cables left unfortunately. I'll have to order some more...

Decided to cut some stuff up today. Made some windows for my case. Happy with the outcome, for sure!

Supplies ready.

Measured and marked out.

Cut out! Couple little mistakes but they should file out.

Filed and raw edges painted.

Cut the polycrap on the table saw to size and got it ready to glue on with some epoxy. Get as many kitchen objects as you can to help with the project.

While that dries, let's yank off the other panel.

Oh hey, it's dry. Let's put it on!

Other panel marked out.

Cut out and filed. This one turned out much better than the first. Learned my mistakes on the first one, I suppose.

Vent holes marked but I'm going to let the epoxy dry a bit before I attempt to drill through both panels. Stupid marker as way juicier than I was expecting. Should clean off though.

Here it is installed.

And a lit up shot. It looks like a robot spider or something, hahaha. Really happy with the outcome, though. 2 hours well spent.

Update:

Purchased a 250GB SSD and an i5-4690k! Playing around with some lighting ideas... Also have a 230mm fan on the way to replace the two 120mm fans in the front.

Went from around 8,800 in Fire Strike with the G3258 to this with my new CPU. Loving the upgrade!
