Can I run a DDR4 3200mhz kit stable on base clock (2133mhz)?

For my first build I want to use an i3 6100 on a Z170 motherboard because I want to upgrade to an i7 in the future.

So my question now is, can I run an ddr4 3200mhz kit on the base clock of 2133mhz with the i3 without issues.

Because I want to do some overclocking with the i7 and I don't want to buy a new kit to get faster RAM.

I would apreciate if some of you can help me with this problem!

And please excuse my bad english:$

Thank you.

Yes, but in 2-3 years. Thats why i chose the skylake platform to have the most future proof build i can afford with my budget.

My problem now is that i doesn't want to buy a 2133 kit an then in 2-3 another with 3200.

I was running 3600+ on my 6100 (sold it recently). No issues.

do I need to overclock the i3 to run it with the 3200 kit or can just set it to 3200 in the bios ?

Without an appropriate BIOS you won't be able to OC the 6100.

As far as the RAM goes, just select the XMP profile in the BIOS and it should run at rated.
