Alright guys, I have made an observation of a 2 phenomena. I call the first one the X-1 bug.

Basically what happens is if you are looking for a certain quantity of something, quantity X, then you will manage to find X-1, or one less of that item. Take the CPU cooler I am working on for instance. I had four spring clips for the screws. I have been looking all over the place and I can only find three. This concept can be applied to all sorts of things. Say you needed to reinstall your motherboard, and it has 6 screws. No matter how careful, after removing the motherboard and getting the new one ready, you will have five screws left.

Anyone else notice this?

The second one is very simple and can be explained in one statement.

"If thermal paste exists outside of its container, you WILL get some on your hands, and then on other things before you notice it"

What phenomena have you seen dealing with tech related things?

If there's a fan connector on the motherboard I need to plug into before installing everything else, I will have forgotten to do so and have to remove everything, plug the fan in, then install everything again.  Every time.

If I don't test the system before setting it up in the case, it will not work and I will have to pull it all apart and trouble shoot on the table.  If I try it out beforehand it works fine every time.
