So the Razor Core hasn't came out yet, it says it can be connected to the Razer Stealth by Thunderbolt 3 port, so can any laptop with a Thunderbolt 3 port connect to the Razer Core?

I am seriously banking on this. I am getting an Acer Aspire R13.

I have seriously scoured the internet looking for info about external gpus and there's not a whole lot out there. Enterprise grade eGPU kits cost like $700 so it's just out of the question for regular people.

Who knows if it will be compatible with other companies laptops though.

To be honest, I doubt it'll work w/ other computers... if Razer makes it I think they would only want it to work w/ Razer computers.. marketing

Razer has said they won't restrict it, however it's up to other companies to enable it to be supported.

I think its a somewhat universal system, so if the laptop you are getting has its own egpu solution, then using a box from another vendor would work no problem.

Cpu: Ryzen 2700 @ 4.0Ghz | Motherboard: Hero VI x370 | Gpu: EVGA RTX 2080 | Cooler: Custom Water loop | Ram: 16GB Trident Z 3000MHz

PSU: RM650x + Braided cables | Case:  painted Corsair c70 | Monitor: MSI 1440p 144hz VA | Drives: 500GB 850 Evo (OS)

As long as they arent using a proprietary solution (luckily, they arent) any computer that has a PCIe lane through thunderbolt should theoretically work with it.

Yah, I was thinking of getting a XPS 15 and it has a Thunderbolt 3 port, then I went one the Razer website and it said it connects using Thunderbolt 3

You'll need a BIOS update from dell before you can use eGPUs on the xps afaik

HP Pavilion p007tx (i5 4210u, gt840m, 8GB DDR3 memory and a 1 TB HDD that makes cool sounds when booting up)

Since my laptop can't run modern games too well I use a PS4
