Good, Simple Minecraft Modpack

So I am going to be playing a little bit of minecraft with my friend, and I want her to have a good time but not have to deal with a ton of mods. What are some of the more simple packs that will keep me occupied (like with computercraft), but not be too heavy for a laptop. I will be running the server off of my desktop at college and using hamachi to log into it at her house. Any ideas?

Too Many Items. It doesn't add much, but helps A LOT.

No mod pack is too heavy for any pc

You just need the right amount of ram

Just go through trial and error

install modpacks, try them out if you dont like them the uninstall it. try another

Shaders can affect performance. 

 

But he's right, 99% of mods won't impact performance. Unless it's like a mod that spawns 10,000 cows lol.

Yeah I forgot about *cows but unless you have a SHIET ton of entities that have some detailed textures, your fine

This is probably kind of outdated, but I find Tekkit Lite works extremely well.
