Hey guys, so a while back I bought the Hornet game package and later upgraded to the Hornet Ghost. At the time I didn't realize that the Ghost is not able to use the turret that the standard Hornet uses, because of the stealth coating. I understand that if I melt the Ghost package I will lose the entire package and have that redeemed in in-store credits. My question is, the standard Hornet package was $125, the upgrade was $15 making the total $140, if I were to melt the upgraded Ghost package and receive $140 in credits, would I be able to purchase the standard Hornet package for $125, use it for however long and then if I felt I wanted the Ghost, still have the $15 dollars to upgrade it? And would I be able to do this continuously? Any help would be very appreciated guys thank you.

Yes, but keep in mind that they split SC and SQ42 up so if you bought your package before February 14th you still have both but when you melt your package now you'd have to buy a new package that only includes 1 of the games and pay 15$ extra to get both games again.

You should be able to upgrade your Hornet Ghost to a Freelancer DUR for free and try something different or you could spend the extra 15$ to get a Hornet Tracker and sell the scanner later in the 'Verse.

As what @Napper198 said, melting is no longer an ideal option. Best plan is to upgrade to keep original package.

Thanks a lot guys for the help. Without starting a new topic I was curious if anyone knew the best weapons for the Ghost? I know a lot is personal preference but I don't know really where to start. The starting guns I do like because of the speed but I don't know if I should trade them out for something else, or if there is a go to standard loadout for Hornets. Any suggestions? Especially the front point, I do like having the gimbal on the wing mounted guns. Don't know if there are any guides around that could help?

Depends on your preferred weapon type. For raw dps you go 3x Broadsword for fixed or 3x Tarantula MK2 on S3 gimbals.

And maybe get a Size 4 direct damage shield and learn how to evade missiles.

If you're into stuff like that, here's a spreadsheet with lots of data: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nU2Ten4SWLfPrB92PsuJ2xNEevBDc5Rkqr7jsusGUAE/edit#gid=278523881
