Go to solution Solved by StevenSensei,

There is a lot of circle jerking around all of the different manufacturers. Some people have had great luck with asus...others say that the card will cause you to burn your house down in ritual sacrifice to satan! Others say MSI is the way to go as the support is great...but those have failed too. What about the gforce cards? Too loud...too hot...but mine is cool and I can't hear it at all. EVGA has the best cards...but they are overpriced and have features I don't need...they overclock first...I can do that myself and pay less....

Ultimately, find a card that works with your budget, your case (both physically and aesthetically if that matters to you), and that you can get from a vendor who you feel confident in. Yes, any RMA and failure is a pain in the rear....but not every card is going to fail...

Prior to learning about the Palit Super Jetstream (great card but not available in the US) I was in the same boat as you. Trying to decide if I wanted MSI or Gigabyte, or Acer. I decided I didn't like the always on LEDs on the strix card, the MSI didn't match my rig and was louder than I wanted....and I had settled on one of the gigabyte cards....then threw it all out the window when I found out I could get the Palit locally at a better price than the cost for me to import from the US or pay the customs fees for cards that are already imported.

TL;DR - Buy the card you want and be happy :)

I have MSI and it great .... i wound't get the strix card as i have some bad experience with it.

Personally? I'd go for the MSI GAMING 6G 980 Ti.

What are people gonna circlejerk point towards? EVGA's 980 Tis.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

This would be my choice, for no other reason that better power delivery than reference. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B014PXHC6M/?tag=pcpapi-20

Although, if you care none about the cooler, MSI has one for $609 here: http://www.microcenter.com/product/453354/GeForce_GTX_980_Ti_6GB_GDDR5_V1_Video_Card

i was about to suggest that card as well...great price and great quality on that card and EVGA is an awesome brand for customer services...that MSI card has a crap cooler though i would stay away from it...like far far far away.

I would too, but fancy coolers aren't everyone's cup of tea. In addition, at least that one is reference, a real boon for watercooling.

if you are 100% going to watercool the card then i think you can find reference models for cheaper...the msi twinfrozr card ia amazing though...the msi gaming 6G. it's more expensive than the EVGA FTW card though so i would go with the EVGA card this time around.
