Care to say why? #2 was one someone recomended, #1 was my idea, so I'm just confused :P

The FX series is antiquated at best and offers similar performance to generations-old Intel CPUs. A locked Haswell i5 will outperform a heavily overclocked FX9590 in basically every scenario (other than certain virtualization tasks) let alone a Skylake i5, which will be about 10% faster than Haswell.

Plus the motherboard you chose for the FX8 can't properly handle that CPU.

First off, go with intel. It will be much faster. Second, what games/CAD softwares will you be working with?

Depending on what software you use id consider going gtx960 instead. I know a lot of 3d/cad stuff can utilize cuda cores better than open gl thus youll get better performance out of your rig for those this at a very slight difference in gaming.

+1 for an nvidia card, I know blender uses CUDA, but I've never been able to make anything complicated enough for it to really make a difference XD. Fusion 360 FTW.
