Hi Guys, I'm having a very strange problem. I can't seem to access the forum since I've switched internet plans.

When I do try to access the forum I get the following page

If I change DNS settings I still am unable to get to the forums. If I use a VPN I can access the page fine.

At the moment I'm using my 4G dongle to get access to the site and this works.

I'm thinking it has something to do with my ip but every other page seems fine.

Thanks for reading!

I had this too. I indirectly contacted @Windspeed36 who adviced me to reset my router. Worked fine.

I forgot to thank him. He probably got a notification because I just mentioned him ^ so yeah.. thanks man.

We've noticed issues with routing that neither CloudFlare nor the host have offered any answers to. The most common solution is to restart your modem to be assigned a new IP. If you're on a static IP, you may need to contact your ISP. Otherwise using a VPN such as HotSpot Shield by Anchor works too.

I have had this problem for the last week,  After much googling I did not find an answer and decided to restart my modem. Voila I am back.  It's kinda funny because the solution was posted on a forum I could not view due to the issue.

Cloudflare kept reporting that the host server (linustechtips.com) was down: error 522.  Once I recieved a new IP the issue was resolved, which tells me that the issue is cloudflare blacklisting certain IP addresses (similar to the spamhaus blacklist).  I recognise that they need to blacklist IP's as part of their DDoS mitigation program, however if they don't let the general public know what error 522 means then the target website could easily loose genuine users.

If this doesn't work ether get ur ISP to change ur ip or replace your modem.

You'd only have to get the ISP to change your IP if you have a static IP.  Changing the modem won't do anything because the problem is with how cloudflare deal with your ip address.  Essentially they prevent ddos attacks the same way spamhause deal with spam email. they just keep a record of all ip's that have had anything to do with ddos and block them. Sometimes we get assigned an ip that cloudflare have blacklisted.  The problem is cloudflare will not tell you this because if you are ddosing a website they want you to think it has gone down rather than you have been blocked.

EDIT: sorry that should read that replacing the modem will not fix anything because it is not a fault with the modem, just that resting it causes your ISP to issue you with a new IP.

I got Optus cable but rebooting modem doesn't help.

So I basicly killed it they sent a tech around he replaced it so problem solved.

So is it possible you don't get a new IP with every reboot on cable?

I am on DSL2+ these issues usually resolve themselves but if not a new IP has fixed it every time.
