Best 1440p IPS monitors around $400- 2016

sterlingr

Hello all!

I'm a video producer and casual gamer and am finally getting ready to replace my old business-grade Dell TN panels for a proper monitor. Could anyone suggest good monitors that fit the parameters below, I've just been using amazon and filtering what I want, but other than that don't REALLY know what I'm doing or what are good monitors.

Parameters:

  • IPS Panel
  • 1440p (or above)
  • 25" or 27" (What do you guys think of 27" monitors, too big, worth it?? I have a 22" right now, just don't want to feel overwhelmed by an oversized monitor)
  • Under or around $400
  • Preferably small bezel

So far, I've been looking at the ASUS MX27AQ and MX25AQ, also saw the Acer G257HU, what do you think of those as well?

Thanks!

27" monitors are totally worth it, I'd start looking there.

The Acer B276HUL is what I have and it can be had for anywhere from like $300-500.  Colors are nice and backlight bleed isn't too bad once you turn down the brightness.  27" is a wonderful size, especially with Windows 10 having 4 windows open at one time is great.

27'' is the sweet spot for 1440p...IPS 27'' 2560x1440p is where it's at.

Thanks for all the input, actually was very helpful, but I still haven't gotten specific answers for those monitors. Anyone know about them? Thanks!

I went from 24" 16:10 to 27" 16:9 and it didn't feel like the new monitor was too big. I have it at about the same distance as the old one, maybe a wee bit further away.

I'd also say that 27" is the sweet spot for 1440p, can't imagine a smaller one being all that comfortable to read on.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.
