Witcher 3 disc install with Steam

I bought the disc version of The Witcher 3 as I currently have a pretty strict data cap (Australia problems).

I'm not sure what's happening but it wants to install with GOG? I want to install it to steam, is this possible?

Had the same problem, but couldn`t get it to Steam, but GoG is really good too, shouldn`t be harder and/or different

I have all my games on Steam at the moment and I don't really want to have two different clients for games. It should be able to go on steam if it's DRM free?

You can add a non-steam product to the Steam library. Just point to the Witcher3.exe and you're done. You might run the GOG client one a month to check for updates for the game though.

If you bought the none steam version, you cannot use steam in the same way you would a native steam game (as in download patches etc)

 

You have to use GOG to use the game

 

I honestly dont see the issue with using other software platforms, do you refuse to play any game that is not on steam? because thats crazy

I think most gamers here will have Origin, UPlay, GOG and Steam all installed so they are not restricted to the games they can play
