8Ah Battery

If i run a 12v 8Ah battery drawing 8 amps from it, will it last for 1 hour before i have to recharge it?

yes, but its not linear

this is what the output will look like

just ignore the numbers, the curve is what it will look like (if youre talking about a 11.1v lipo)

 

other types of batteries will have different discharge curves

Compared to NiCad or NiMah that flat line is what really makes Lipo stand out. They output the same or close to it the whole time. But when they go dead they go dead. Not to mention weight to power output

worth a mention on the Li-po batteries that they are highly toxic and if you puncture them they will go up in smoke. so be careful handeling them.
