Looking for monitor for desk

AgentM101

I will be getting a desk in the next few months and I would like a monitor to have on it to connect to my laptop. I would like some suggestions from not myself. I would like 1920x1080p with an HDMI input, not really bothered about the screen type (TN, IPS, VA, etc.), would like more than 22". The price must be under $200 CAD. Cheers!

Current PC: Toshiba Satellite L850D - A8-4500M - Radeon 7640M - 1TB HDD - Steelseries QcK - Logitech M325

This is what I personally use, it's not the best when it comes to refresh rate but the panel has good color accuracy, viewing angle and has what you want HDMI Input. :) Another downside it the manual control buttons for menu, power and such are a bit wonky but the almost bezzle-less borders are cool. :)

I really like how cheap this monitor is, but I can't find it in a store that isn't out-of-stock or doesn't ship it. What about the Asus VX248H-P?

It's sadly my monitor is an older model. The VX248H-P is I believe a newer iteration of the same design. If it's the same panel I'm pretty sure you'd like it. .

Addendum: I by the way forgot to state this, the onboard Speakers are really not great... The value for it as a screen and a good looking design was the biggest selling point for me.
