This doesn't answer the question. He might be experimenting with youtube so he doesn't want to spent 100$ on a mic. A 12$ mic is a zero-risk investment because if his youtube idea doesn't pan out, he can re-use it as a ghetto microphone for other purposes.

Have you considered using your phone to record the audio? Maybe it's better than your laptop mic or whatever you have now.

I was saing ways he could get more money to get a better mic he really only need 20$ to get a okay/good mic

http://www.amazon.com/Samson-Mic-Direct-Microphone-Cancellation/dp/B00I9RK97A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1455884673&sr=8-3&keywords=samson+go this plus some usb extentions (2$ or so) and he whould have a nice mic. If 12$ is zero-risk investment then 22$ must be the same. Yeah my first post answer the question, if you think about it I am basically saying that he should get some more money because 12$ mic are not good in anyway and sound is really important when it comes to youtube or live stream

You could use your phone (if u have smartphone) to record audio for your video.

It would probably do better if not the same job as that crappy mic for your budget.

Or borrow an audio recorder from your school. Many schools provide equipment for students.
