Project Mount

 

Welcome to my first custom case build! This build will be using all parts that I have lying around my house and a few things I will be buying of course but I will be using as many things that I have. So, lets get going! :D

 

Purpose:

This system will be used to gold 24/7 and possibly mine if I get a good enough GPU for it.

 

Deadline:

There is no deadline as I will be doing this in my spare time. This project might not even start for a for weeks.

 

Components:

I don't know what most of the components are, but this will be updated ASAP.

 

Inspiration:

I saw the build called "MAXxPlanck V2" (click it!) and this made me think... if I made something like this, but air cooled? What advantages would I get in a open-air system like this? So here it is now!

You would get the disadvantage of dust.

What components are you thinking about putting in there?

i9 25.6 GHz with NeuronThreading, 256gb 6000 MHz RAM, GTX 990 OC 3024MHz 12gb, Skeletal X99 motherboard, 1 Petabyte SSD, Fractal Design Humaniod R1 Case, Herbivore 10,000W PSU, Noctua NF16 LP Derma Cooler.

Probably the only Star Citizen player who is planning on a career in Journalism instead of piracy, mining, trading, exploration, military, station management, etc.

Generation 0: The first time you see this add 1 to the number and copy it into your sig. Consider it a social experiment.

That rig looks awesome, advantages I can think of are easy to change parts if you do that frequently, unique looks and probably very cool temps. 1 massive disadvantage: dust, tons of it. Also, nice WT1 avatar (I know that's not his channel name any more) :lol:

Update 1 - September 10, 2013

The preparations

Update number one is finally here! Today I did some planning so here is what I have so far!

I will be using an old side panel for an old case, the sides will be bent to make the whole thing vertical and there will be acrylic panels added to the sides to add some space underneath.

I will use a PCI extension cable to connect the GPU and all the cables will be routed under the whole thing.
