What is better?

Go to solution Solved by lachyman,

Gaming cards for $200+ all have a counterpart in the other camp, so it depends on if you want to OC or not:

760>7950

770>7970

780=/=7990

Solely raw power in games, however if you like to OC AMD will be better. The 780 and 7990 are only similiar in price, but otherwise they are so diffirent so I can't compare.

Hello, I'm just wondering which is better? An Amd Gpu or Nvidia Gpu? And what is the diffrence between physics and Advanced physics?

it will depend in what you are using it for gaming i would say go with amd but rendering and adobe after effects as well as gaming nvidia would be a better choice

I believe both AMD and Nvidia gpu's have physx but Nvidia is the only one with advanced physx, its just more particles on screen and make things look pretty (overdone in some games imo)

Neither is better overall, they both have there advantages and disadvantages.

Uh oh war coming.... But honestly one isn't better than the other. Both have their own advantages. I would just get what ever card fits into your budget

Yep, you stepped on a landmine here... personally, I'd go with Nvidia for PhysX, but this depends heavily on your budget anyway.

I love physX and so I bought Nvidia for me but when AMD came out with these game bundles with their cards it got me to buy an XFX 1 GB 7850 for my son's rig.  Would I prefer to always buy Nvidia cuz it has physX ?  Yes.  At times will I consider AMD for certain pc rigs ?  Yes.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S
