You probably don't need the DVD burner and could use the money saved to boost yourself up to a NZXT S340 or something.

Don't quote me but I think the A10 will bottleneck the GTX 970; if you can get a Pentium G3528 or whatever it's called you'll probably be better off.

edit With a G3258 which is a LGA 1150 chip, you'll need a different motherboard. In the same price range you could take a look at an AsRock H81 board.

Primary Build: i7-4790 · 16GB Hynix DDR3-1600 · Sapphire Tri-X R9 390x · NZXT S340 · Win10 Pro · Seagate Barracuda 1TB T_T

Portable: 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 13" · i5-5257u · 512GB PCIe SSD · Intel Iris 6100 T_T

What about cooling?  I'd get a good watercooling system with that cpu.

Or get a better core i7.  You've got the budget for it.

8.5/10 for same reasons as last last time.

Holy crap, literally the only difference is the motherboard and graphics card. Am I the only one finding this slightly annoying? Please, update the thread instead of creating a whole new one.

If you could spare the extra cash, this rig would pull better IMO, bc it has an overclockable skylake.

Looks pretty good to me! The only things I might change are these: You don't need an H97 motherboard to use the 4460. B85 or H81 will work fine as long as the BIOS is up to date.

The 390 is a really powerful card for that power supply... It would probably work, but with the GPU alone pulling near 300w, I might consider a step up. But the choice is yours. My system is fine with an overclocked dual core and overclocked HD 6850 on a 300w power supply. I was just stupid in my part choices.

Also, you might be able to save some cash on the OS by looking at the Reddit Microsoft exchange. https://www.reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap/

They resell OS keys pretty cheaply there. Just make sure the seller is reputable and can be trusted.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Again the power supply, this one isn't good enough for a R9 390 check this list http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/406160-psu-ranking-and-tiers/

Better spend it on a better power supply now, if he hates the cooler he can get one later since we are not sure if he is fine with it or not.

Here is a set of PSUs which you can go for instead (sorted from best):
