Quick question, I pulled a 2 TB barracuda drive out of an external enclosure I used to use for storing xbox games. Now that i sold my xbox and have a PC i figured why not put it in there for mass game storage? The problem is that its REALLY loud when it spins up... like louder than the rest of my entire system. I dont think the drive has any issues with it physically or anything, its just super loud. Are these drives any good? Or should i just look for a higher performance, more reliable, and quiter alternative? (that isnt an SSD)

My current Rig (Memphis) --> http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jQYWpg

Depends what model it is ( the baracuda lineup stretches across a few drive generations.  I personally love my drive.  I got around 215MB/s last time i benched it ( with wear it probably is lower now), its quiet and has no issues.  However,  it seema people have had bad experiences with baracuda drives.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case
