High CPU Usage [Win 10]

Go to solution Solved by MrXCOM,

YEAAAAAA!! FIXED IT LOL. Removed all the Windows updates from the last mouth and reinstalled them and success, CPU is back to 0-1% idle.

Thank you for the help and advice guys.

Hello there my name is Mattie and hopefully someone can help me, I've noticed that my CPU usage sits around 30% usage when idle and the memory around 15%. The first core of my CPU is completely maxed out also.

The usage is shared between ntoskrnl.exe (System & Compressed) & svchost.exe (Memory and Service Host).
I've tried various recommended solutions regrading ntoskrnl.exe cpu usage.

  • Scanned for malware and virus
  • Checked and updated all of my device drivers, audio, gpu, network, etc
  • removed all pre-installed Win 10 apps & un used apps
  • Disabled runtime broker
  • Windows update

Still the issue remains. As for svchost.exe, well not really sure where to begin with trouble shooting this one. Hopefully there someone here that can share some insight into whats causing this usage and and any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated, Thank you =)

Having same problem at the moment, try disabling your pagefile.

For some people this has been a problem since november.

I returned from a short break today, the pc as not been booted for 3 days and yes all the latest windows and device drivers are installed and up to date.

then you should leave it on for a while until it finishes what its trying to do

if you restart or shut down while the CPU usage is high like that then it gets interrupted and has to start all over again
