ORRRR you could get a 980 Ti if your PSU accepts it.

980 will give you more performance boost than skylake (you need new mobo + ram too)

The difference between the 4790k and 6700k is minimal so save that dosh and either get another 980 or nothing so you can upgrade something later on :D

No need for Skylake, Haswell is more than enough. Also, sell your 980 and get a fury or fury x or 980 ti. But that depends on the resolution you're using.
