Go to solution Solved by EndlessOyster,

right click the speaker in the bottom left of your screen click play back devices enable the ports which your plugged into disable the ones your not plugged into.

Hello all,

I recently broke my front case headphone jack. I attempted to resume normal use of my headphones by plugging them into one of my motherboad's front speak (lime green) port. This produced regular sound perfectly fine but no voices come through from anything. PLEASE HELP. I have no idea how to fix this.

- AsRock Extreme3 970 Motherboard

- Thermaltake Chaser a31 case

- sennheiser hd 598 headphones

Thanks guys!

Checked that you have the ports embalmed in playback devices?

In what way did you break it, maybe you broke the audio on your computer and just getting a dac would do the job.

What do you mean by having the "ports embalmed in playback devices"? And by broken, I mean the front headphone jack on my case is rendered useless (the chord was ripped out and the actual jack is broken)

Hey,

If parts of your audio are coming though, but not others it sounds like you're only getting 2 audio channels through to your headphones. In other words it sounds like your PC is trying to playback surround sound, but only through to the "front speak " (Front speakers). So, anything that tries to play through the back, or maybe even center or side speakers isn't getting through to your headphones.

I think you need to find a way to switch to stereo as opposed to surround sound.

If you're on windows right click on the speaking in the system tray, click playback devices. From there you will need to look through the menus.

I could be wrong, but sounds like a channel issue to me. Worth trying before you go buying anything.
