Hi guys,

I got the current humble bundle including Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3 Blooddragon. The key provided is for uPlay. I played some of the other games and they work but neither of the two will work for me. I keep get the little pop-up but after that I get a Windows troubleshooting pop-up. Which of course does nothing ^^. I tried this: Crashing At Startup Far Cry 3 Blooddragon Steamcommunity

It seemed like exactly my problem. However I couldn't get it to work.

My system:

CPU: AMD A10-7850k :(

GPU: GTX 970 from Zotac (with the newest drivers: Version 361.75)

RAM: 16GB (obviously DDR3)

OS: 64-Bit Windows 10 Home

My friend has got a similiar system only with the Gigabyte Windforce 970 and an i7-4770k. He has got the games a bit longer already. Like a year or two. They work on his system.

Thanks!

Also Assassin's Creed Unity crashes, too. But it crashes later after the GeForce logo. Also I guess it's just Unity...

Sorry I don't know how to help you but that's the exact reason why I didn't go with any amd components with my current build lol

The funny thing is another friend of mine has an AMD GPU and it works. So I honestly don't think it's a "team red/team green/team blue-thing"

Also that friend bought it with the bundle so it can't have anything to do with that.

I only dislike my CPU because it is a bit too low end for the rest of the system, which results in quite a bit of bottlenecking especially in CPU intensive games.

Looks like a software problem. Check the drivers, frameworks, Visual C++.

Did that, seemed ok.Thanks for the tip, though. But doing further troubleshooting I think I'm on to something. http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/739489-PC-Win7-8-vista-Solutions-gt-Far-Cry3-Has-Stopped-Responding-Forums

I used the guide above and used the compatability mode(for win 8). It didn't work perfectly and crashed after I applied some settings I apperently shouldn't have applied but I'm getting there! I'll keep this post updated! If this doesn't work I'll try the other methods from that guide.

Update!

It works!

I had to fiddle a bit with the display settings but here's what I did:

I set both .exe-files (fc3_blooddragon.exe & fc3_blooddragon_d3d11_b.exe) to run in the windows 8 compatability mode.

Now I'll try it with the normal Far Cry 3 but I got to download that first. I'll check back in again later with updates.

OK Far Cry 3 worked with the same method.
