Sony Vegas scrubbing Issue

So I just recently installed Sony Vegas 13, learning the ropes slowly (love this program btw) and now I have a project that I'm working on that has a lot of layers.

However, I am having severe scrubbing issues, the video preview is set at very low quality, but even still there is a lot of delay and freeze-ups.

My graphics card (can't remember the model off the top of my head) has 2 Gb of video memory and Is capable of running most of my games at mid quality 60 fps, and I have a single stick kit of 8 Gb DDR4  memory. The processor is an i5 4590 3.3 GHz.

The thing I want to know, is if my problem lies in any of those components listed, or something else.

I could just buy another stick of RAM to make it 16 Gb, but do you think that would fix the problem?

Any help appreciated <3

its probably your ram

is it full when you look at task manager?

if not check the vegas settings to see if you can increase the memory allocated

k so update... It is my ram, I did some research and turns out that vegas usually needs more for more intense projects.

The memory I bought is only $37, which is less than buying a new graphics card or something.

Thanks for your help!
