Little problem upgrading

So I found a 2,5" HDD 500GB for only 50EUR (68,53 CAD, 65,91USD) to upgrade my laptops 140GB HDD.

Now, my question: this laptop is from 2007, so is it wise to spend 50 euro on it?

Eh, if you have nothing else and no other money, sure. But that could mean a better GPU, CPU, more RAM or bigger SSD if you end up building a PC. So maybe you should just save up for that.

That's true, though check the price of the 1tb, it's usually just a few eu more than the 500gb. Well that's for the 3.5" HDD, not sure if the same applies to 2.5" ones.

It's the WD Scorpio Black (wd5000bpkt).

IDK. I wouldn't get that HDD or recommend it. I had one that died after 6 months of usage.

I just checked the prices on amazon, the 750gb is only 15$ more and the 1tb is only 20$ more, so I guess you might as well spend that extra bit if it's the same wherever you're buying from.

Don't forget that this is a 7200 rpm laptop drive and the 1TB wont be I did the same search as you and the black drive listed is a 3.5", the 750 on the other hand will work.

True for that particular HDD, but there are other 2.5" 7200RPM 1tb HDD for around 80$.
